Jim Thomas, 7th grade Mill Valley Teacher, has developed a career in narration for audio tours. From the Getty Museum to the Adkins Arboretum and the Smithsonian, Thomas has become “The Voice Of” their recorded self-guided tours.

Susan Evind, a San Francisco native performance artist and historian, recounts stories from the City By The Bay, through authentic letters, old photos, artifacts and family memoirs. Her recorded  retelling of her grandfather’s survival in the 1906 earthquake landed her a job for a PBS historical documentary being produced in Berkeley.

Charles Sheaff, a volunteer for the Marin Humane Society, is a mortgage broker who has just become “The Voice Next Door.” Within two weeks after completing his demo, marketing package and website, he’s found representation with Tonry Talent Agency, as a character for commercials, cartoons and animation.

Ellen Lenchner, a Santa Rosa Day Spa owner, is launching a marketing campaign for her business. Her promotion on the radio will feature her voice actor talents. “The dots between my new business and the idea that I could use my own voice to promote it, was hatched in classes with  Madeleine,” she says.

Sofi Milani, Certified Yoga Instructor, leads classes on a weekly basis in Sonoma and Santa Rosa, California. Her students are seniors, cancer and heart patients. “This is Breathe,” is a 35-minute recorded meditation which guides her listener to a healthful, healing, deep relaxation.

Charles Ford, a Bolinas fisherman for 35 years, records personal short stories, entitled, “A Cup of Coffee,” accompanied by dramatic music and sound effects, as a series. In one, he recalls his encounter with a California Grey Whale.

Family Therapist Esther Trevino, produced “Tranquil Walk” (Camino Tranquillo), in both Spanish and English language versions. Through the process she gained new confidence in her skills as a curandera, telling the allegories of healing wisdom. The selection of beautiful music from Radio Magic’s music library, inspired her to express her healing stories and guided meditations in just the right way.

Gene Michael Gordon, criminal law attorney, became the voice for his own radio commercial. Then, he recorded a children's book, complete with music and sound effects, as a gift for his two-year-old granddaughter.

"Thanks from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful ad, and a great time. You truly are a genius, and what a pleasure to see you work your magic on copy I had written. It's amazing to hear the difference expert direction can bring to voices. It's like the difference of black and white to color Thank you so much, and thank Roy, too. "I just wanted to thank you both for your wonderful production work; whether from the beginnings, with our plumbing the depths of the creative void; to the actual recording, with you Madeleine, helping me find and stay on the elusively obvious "it"; onto the final editing with you, Roy, working your magic and talents to take "it" to the next level. Thank you for that, and everything else, that went into the process. You really helped me to produce a gem of a demo. I love it!!!" - Robb McCullough
